The MoRO Foundation aims to promote knowledge of the interaction between mobility and spatial development. The foundation wants to stimulate the development and familiarity of this knowledge. To this end, each year the 'Georges Allaert Prize' is awarded to those who, during a certain period, have, in the opinion of an independent jury, best served the MoRO objective. The name of this prize is taken from Professor Georges Allaert who, on the occasion of his retirement in 2013, took the initiative for the establishment of the MoRO Foundation. His Ghent University - as the only university in Flanders - has accumulated scientific expertise over the past decades in the area of the interaction between Mobility and Spatial Development (MoRo). This interaction must not be lost.
