DIR Rapiers (PICANOL Roadmap project) (2014 - 2016)

This project aimed to expand the capabilities of an existing yarn simulation software. The existing software was specifically written for air-jet weaving, the goal of this project was to allow simulating rapier weaving as well. The existing code was expanded to simulate among others prewinder brakes, brakes with time variable normal force, objects with time dependent motion (translation or rotation), cutting, clamping and the moving shed.
