Jingwen Qi graduated as a mast​er in communication sciences in 2017 at Lanzhou University in China. She obtained a grant from Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC).

Currently, her research topic is to explore the news coverage about China’ soft power in the European media. She is a member of the Center for Journalism Studies (CJS), under the supervision of professor Sarah Van Leuven and professor Stijn Joye.
