Install the Zoom Client for Meetings

To use Zoom, you need to install a piece of software on your computer. This program is called Zoom Client for Meetings.

Please update the Zoom Client for Meetings regularly in order to benefit from all the newly added functionality.

On your computer (required)

Lecturers and students are required to install the Zoom Client for Meetings on their computer. Otherwise, you cannot participate in virtual classrooms at UGent.

  1. Download the Zoom Client for Meetings from https://zoom.us/download
  2. Install the Zoom Client for Meetings on the local hard drive of your computer (not via Athena)

On your mobile device (optional)

Zoom is also available as a mobile app for your smartphone or tablet. However, this version has fewer features than the Zoom Client for Meetings on your computer.

  1. Download Zoom Cloud Meetings via the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android)
  2. Install Zoom Cloud Meetings on your mobile device
