Spin-off funding

Ghent University can help the spin-off initiatives through different funding mechanisms:

Euro picture

  • Pre-incubation funding to validate the Industrial Proof of Concept (POC): IOF project funding.
  • Incubation funding to further validate industrial and commercial POC: QBIC Fund.
  • Startup and growth funding to turn the initial commercial validation in sales growth and to further scale the company: VC funds. (see regional funding possibilities)

QBic

The QBIC Fund is the inter-university venture capital fund affiliated with Ghent University, the University of Antwerp and the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. It is a closed end fund, founded in May 2012 with a committed capital of over 30 million Euro. Approval of projects is decided by the independent Investment Committee of the fund.
