IMDC is an international consultancy providing advice upon the development and management of water related projects in the offshore, marine, coastal and river environment. IMDC provides services to the renewable (offshore wind, wave and tidal energy), power generation (nuclear, gas), transmission infrastructure, navigation, integrated water risk management, ports & harbours, environmental and public sector markets (flood risks, coastal protection).

IMDC’s Measurement team organizes measurement campaigns to collect mainly water related data (e.g. currents, sediments, waves, water quality,…) and reports the observations to other teams within IMDC, authorities or other clients. The team member could act as executor, data processor (analyst), consultant or client-rep.
To strengthen our team we are looking for a hydro surveyor. We are looking for a dynamic person with an innovative and inquisitive mindset, who’s able to work as part of a project team, but can also work independently and is not afraid of taking initiative. You will be able to discover different technical domains and be exposed to different aspects of the project both in national and international context.
Your profile
- You have a Bachelor or Master degree preferably in (applied) sciences (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Geography, Geology,…).
- Missions abroad are a welcome interruption of your work mainly in Belgium. You are willing to work on national and international projects.
- You have excellent reporting and data analysis skills, and are fluent in Dutch and English (both in writing and verbally); ability to speak French or Spanish is an advantage.
- A knowledge of programming languages (MATLAB/Python), measuring techniques, GIS or/and data communications are an advantage.
- You are the owner of a driver’s license B, practical mindset and problem solving skills. You enjoy working outside in all weather conditions and are not afraid of offshore work on vessels . You are pro-active, a team-player and you take initiative to report and ask for feedback.
- Relevant experience with water-related monitoring is an advantage.
- You are interested in staying on top of new trends and technologies.
- You are flexible, last minute deviations in planning and occasional weekend work are not a problem, not a 9-5 mentality.
- Interest or experience in practical skills (e.g. electrical wiring, welding, data communication,…) are an advantage.
