Diederik Depla receives the Bill Sproul Award and Honorary ICMCTF lectureship, which recognizes the achievements of a mid-career researcher who has made outstanding scientific and/or technological contributions in areas of interest to the Advanced Surface Engineering Division (ASED) of the American Vacuum Society, with emphasis in the fields of surface engineering, thin films, and related topics. He will deliver an honorary lecture titled "Modelling Reactive Sputtering: Back to the Future" at the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF) in 2022.
